Jet2holidays has said it has become the only UK tour operator to be awarded certification for the world’s first international standard for occupational health and safety.
The ISO 45001: 2018 certification has been awarded to the operator’s risk and safety department, which is responsible for ensuring customer safety across thousands of hotels as well as tourist excursions and in-destination transfers.
The operator said: “With the risk and safety department carrying out thousands of visits across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands every year, the certification demonstrates Jet2holidays’ commitment to maintaining the highest levels of health and safety standards for its colleagues, as well as promoting a positive safety culture.”
The certification was awarded after independent assessors from global safety assurance business LRQA carried out detailed audits before a dedicated panel granted the certification.
Jet2holidays said ISO 45001:2018 has been developed as the world’s first international occupational health and safety management system standard which aims to prevent incidents at work.
