Agri-Tech Innovator Secures £2.5M to Advance Safety Software for Autonomous Farm Robots

Danish agri-tech company AgriRobot has announced a major milestone, raising £2.5 million in the first closing of its latest funding round. The company, established in 2021, is focused on revolutionising agriculture by developing cutting-edge safety software for autonomous farming equipment.

The funding round was led by Norminal Ventures, with additional support from Tall Grass Ventures. The investment will enable AgriRobot to accelerate the development of its software and continue its mission to create safer and more efficient autonomous farming systems.

“We’re thrilled to achieve this significant milestone for AgriRobot,” said Tommy Ertbølle Madsen, CEO of the company. “This funding will allow us to fast-track the development and deployment of our innovative safety software, empowering farmers around the world to adopt safe and sustainable agricultural practices.”

The technology behind AgriRobot draws on advancements from the self-driving car industry and last-mile delivery robotics, ensuring the safety and reliability of autonomous tractors and farm robots. Unlike traditional systems, their software eliminates the need for human operators to oversee robots in the field, marking a step-change in agricultural innovation.

Chris Edwards, managing partner at Tall Grass Ventures, highlighted the potential impact of AgriRobot’s solutions on modern farming:

“Their software promises to boost efficiency, lower labour costs, and enhance crop quality. With a team that combines deep technical expertise and agricultural knowledge, we are excited to see how they advance the safety and functionality of autonomous operations in farming.”

AgriRobot envisions their technology paving the way for a new era in agriculture—one that embraces efficiency, sustainability, and the power of automation.

With plans to secure additional funding, the company is positioning itself as a key player in the future of farming technology.
