The Mind Your Head campaign, initiated by the Farm Safety Foundation (also known as Yellow Wellies) in 2018, aims to raise awareness about mental health challenges within the UK’s farming community. Recognising the unique pressures faced by farmers – such as long working hours, rural isolation, and financial uncertainties—the campaign seeks to destigmatise mental health issues and promote well-being in the agricultural sector.
Over the years, the campaign has gained significant recognition. In February 2025, it received royal endorsement when HRH The Prince of Wales participated in a roundtable discussion with young farmers, emphasising the importance of mental well-being in agriculture.
The Mind Your Head campaign is part of a broader effort to address mental health in farming, encouraging open conversations and providing resources to support those in need. By highlighting the importance of mental well-being, the campaign aims to foster a culture where seeking help is seen as a strength, not a weakness.
