PPE Recycling Company Partners with Convenience Food Manufacturer

Across Cranswick Convenience Foods, teams have been participating in a new recycling initiative that will give their PPE a new lease of life while moving this waste up the waste disposal hierarchy. This will result in a significant amount of waste being diverted from incineration to recycling and reuse.

The initiative is organised by a company called ‘Food Clean,’ experts in effective PPE recycling and disposal. In partnership with Cranswick, Food Clean collects used wellington boots and garments from containers across the site, before they are taken away for recycling. Once this process is complete, the recycled materials are used to create playground surfaces and athletic fields across the UK.

These wellington boots are not only recyclable but also extremely comfortable, making them much more agreeable for colleagues during their shifts.

A colleague from the Cranswick Convenience Foods site in Hull stated, “The boots are extremely comfortable. I walk around 10 miles a day when I am on shift, and most of this is in WashGuard boots. They’re great.”
