As businesses reopen it is essential that premises and workplaces are kept COVID-secure. The Health and Safety Executive are carrying out spot checks on every type of business to ensure people and places are kept safe.
Inspectors are working with local authorities to help advise them on the necessary processes that need to be implemented. Phone calls and visits are being carried out to provide expert advice, speaking directly to employers to check they are following the government’s guidance.
Third-party partners are working with the HSE so that as many workplaces as possible can be visited. These third-parties are trained and approved, if you wish to verify an officer that visits you, you can call 0300 790 6896.
As well as providing calls and visits, the HSE has provided some steps you can follow to keep your workplace COVID-secure –
- carrying out a COVID-19 risk assessment
