Stuart Hughes, President, IOSH
Stuart’s guiding principle for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is that a healthy and safe work environment is a fundamental human right. Throughout his 19 years as an OSH professional, Stuart has focused on ensuring the working environment enables people to thrive and flourish. Stuart has worked across enforcement, consultancy, and industry and is currently, Head of Health and Safety for Mercedes AMG PETRONAS FORMULA ONE TEAM.
Stuart brings all his passion for OSH and experience to promote the societal benefit the OSH profession brings to the world of work, to inspire both the membership and wider profession to recognise the difference they make. He’s determined to help turn research into practice, to help the profession implement evidence-based action. As a first-career safety professional, Stuart aims to inspire a future generation of OSH leaders, leveraging OSH as a purpose-driven career that has a positive global impact. Stuart is proud to champion IOSH’s Strategy, Activate 2028, as part of building an OSH profession that is fit for the future.
Dr. Christopher Davis, Thought Leadership Manager, IOSH
Dr. Christopher Davis is currently Thought Leadership Manager at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in the United Kingdom. He specialises in various areas of safety and health research, including the theory and practice of occupational wellbeing, decent and sustainable work, and human capital management. He holds a BA (Hons) in English and European Studies from Nottingham Trent University, a Masters by Research in Comparative Literary Studies from Warwick University, and a PhD in Comparative Literary Studies, also from Warwick University. His has previous experience in academia, where he has published in a number of fields, and has also worked in education, journalism, and community outreach work.
